We all met up at the closest metro stop to walk to the stadium together. After following the large herd of people we discovered the stadium and all of it's glory covered in blue and red. We made our way over to the ticket booth and were able to find cheap seats together, there were 10 of us which made things a little difficult. For a total of 27€ we were in the second to worst seat section...little did we know that a minor concrete wall separated our seats from the 19€ seats.
The game finally started and the all the crowd did was cheer...in Catalan, which is the main language of Barcelona (a mixture of Spanish and French). And 7 minutes later into the game.....
GGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(The difference between 27€ seats and 19€ seats)
The second half was uneventful, minus a few injuries. Unfortunately, due to those injuries the ref didn't call the game after 90 minutes, so in the 93rd minute Getafe had a direct kick in the box...and we all know what happened next.
(Tracey y yo)
(The seats in yellow read "Més de un club" in Catalan, the english translation is "More than a club.")
There was a mad rush of people to get onto the metro, roughly...74,000. So, being the abled women that we were, we decided to walk to the next farther station than the other 73,990 fans, which was a very good decision. There was a HUGE line to even swipe our metro passes. We waited things out and the metro must have liked us or something, but we pushed our way onto the metro and were lucky enough to get seats! It was so packed on the metro we didn't even think we would be able to get off.
After our more than eventful metro ride we went for Tapas down by the beach. We found a really chill Tapas place, which was great after the windy and cold game, and were able to calm down a bit. After tapas, some of Tracey's friends who were visiting from Toledo wanted to go out, so we went to one bar with them and called it a night. Tracey and I took a little stroll by the beach and headed to the metro.
